All Juiced Up With EQ Boost

The EQ Boost is a mild hybrid system of sorts in the CLS that helps to boost power in the car. A starter-generator placed between the engine and transmission that’s linked to a 48-volt lithium ion battery offers a brief boost of power and torque during acceleration and helps keep the car moving when it is in cruising mode.

Touchpad and Controller

The CLS offers intuitive access to a world of entertainment and abundant convenience. Its central controller falls naturally to hand, teaming a touchpad with a rotary knob and one-touch keys for major functions. The touchpad responds to a variety of finger motions, including swipe, pinch and even handwriting. Carousel-style on-screen menus mimic the movement of the rotary knob, making adjustment of the car's abundant features logical and easy.

360 Surround View Camera

The advanced Surround View System uses cameras in all four directions to compose a single, live overhead view of your immediate surroundings. Displayed on the in-dash COMAND screen during low-speed maneuvers, it helps you avoid obstacles as you negotiate tight spaces, whether you're moving forward or backing up.

Electric Sliding Sunroof

KEYLESS-GO

A leap in ease and efficiency pioneered by Mercedes-Benz, KEYLESS-GO lets you unlock, start and drive away without removing the SmartKey from your pocket or purse. You can lock and unlock the doors with a touch of the exterior handles, and start the engine by stepping on the brake pedal and pushing the Start/Stop button on the dash. You can also start the vehicle in the conventional way by removing the Start/Stop button and inserting the SmartKey into the ignition.

Power Front Seats with Memory

Intuitive, seat-shaped controls help you and your front passenger find your ideal seating positions with 14-way power adjustment, including a power lumbar support. A memory system for each front seat recalls three stored seat positions with the touch of a button. The driver-seat memory also includes the power steering column and side mirror positions.

Wireless Charging

Mounted in the centre console, the wireless charging pad of the CLS allows users to charge a compatible Qi-enabled smartphone without the use of messy and unsightly cables.

Power Tailgate

For added convenience in the rain or with an armful of packages, you can fully open and close the liftgate via a switch on the driver's interior door panel or a button on the SmartKey remote. Press a button on the driver's door or the underside of the liftgate and it powers itself closed. A sensor automatically stops the liftgate if it detects an obstruction, and you can set the system to limit the opening height, useful under low ceilings.
